Youth Engagement
DC Action’s youth engagement work is multifaceted. It now includes a Youth Advisory Team of motivated and civic-minded young District residents, ages 13-24, enthusiastic about making positive change for District youth. Guided by DC Action staff, the Team created its vision and mission to guide its work for the year, which includes advising DC Action and partners on relevant issues to add critical youth perspectives to our work, collaborating across organizational initiatives to amplify youth voice, testifying before the DC Council, engaging elected officials through town hall meetings and other unique events, and interviews with the news media.Â
Youth Advisory Team Vision: The change we achieve in our community incorporates equity, youth wellness, and youth-oriented programming.
Youth Advisory Team Mission: Collaborate with individuals and organizations to host safe spaces, provide resources, and create educational initiatives and strategic partnerships to foster youth wellness.
